§ FAQ

Questions, answeredbefore you ask them.

Everything people usually want to know before we build them a website — cost, timeline, SEO, copy, and how the whole thing works.

How much does a custom website cost?
It depends mostly on scope — the number of unique page designs, whether copywriting is included, and any custom functionality like booking, payments, or integrations. As orientation, a genuine custom small-business site typically runs from a few thousand dollars, while a strategy-led agency build with custom design and copy generally starts around $15,000 and scales with complexity. We give a fixed quote after a short scoping call, so you're never guessing.
How long does it take to build a website?
Most custom marketing sites take four to ten weeks from kickoff to launch. The biggest variables are how many pages you need, how quickly content and feedback come back, and whether we're also writing the copy. We give you a week-by-week timeline up front so there are no surprises.
Will my website show up on Google?
Yes — we build every site to be found. That means fast load times, clean semantic HTML, proper metadata and structured data, a sitemap and robots file, mobile-first design, and content organized around what your customers actually search for. Technical SEO makes you eligible to rank; ranking for competitive terms also takes strong content and time, and we'll be honest with you about both.
Do you write the copy, or do I have to?
We can do either. Copywriting is one of the highest-leverage parts of a site, so most clients have us write it — we interview you, learn the offer, and write words that convert. If you'd rather write it yourself or already have a writer, we'll build around your content and advise on what each page needs to do.
Can I update the website myself after it launches?
Yes. We build on systems that let you edit text, swap images, and add pages without touching code or paying us for every change. We also hand off a short walkthrough so your team is comfortable from day one.
Will my website work on phones?
Always. Most of your visitors are on a phone, so we design mobile-first — fast, tap-friendly, and legible on a small screen — then scale up to tablet and desktop. A site that only looks good on a laptop is a site that's failing the majority of its traffic.
What makes a website actually convert?
Four things, in order: clarity (a stranger understands what you do within one screen), speed (it loads in under a few seconds), trust (real proof, specifics, and faces instead of adjectives), and a single obvious next step on every page. Design's job is to make those four feel effortless. We start with the strategy, then apply the craft.
Do you offer website redesigns, or only new builds?
Both. Plenty of our work is redesigning sites that look dated, load slowly, or don't convert. We start by auditing what you have — what's working, what's leaking customers — so the redesign keeps your equity and fixes the real problems rather than just repainting.
What do I need to have ready before we start?
Less than you'd think. A clear sense of your goals, any brand assets you already have (logo, colors, photography), and someone on your side who can give timely feedback. We handle strategy, design, copy, and build — and we'll tell you exactly what we need from you at each step.
Where are you based, and do you work with clients remotely?
We're based at 32 Park Street in Montclair, New Jersey, and we work with clients across the US. The whole process — kickoff, reviews, launch — runs smoothly remotely, and we're always glad to meet in person when you're local.
